Sunset Granita Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water 1/4 cup sugar 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 1/2 cup chopped ripe mango or papaya 2 tbsp orange liqueur
Instructions:
In a saucepan, stir together water and sugar. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the sugar has completely dissolved. Let syrup cool and place in blender. Add lemon juice, fruit and liqueur and blend mixture until it is smooth. Place in a metal dish, cover and freeze for at least 3 hours, stirring the outer frozen mixture into the center every half hour, until firm but not solidly frozen. Just before serving, scrape with a fork to lighten the texture Makes 4 (1/2 cup) servings.
